An injection-molded plastic kit of the American twin-engine transport and paratroop aircraft Douglas C-47A Skytrain in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. It is a new mold with fine engraved surface detail; the box contains clear plastic for the cockpit and cabin windows and decals for several marking options.
The Douglas C-47 Skytrain was a military transport aircraft derived from the civil airliner Douglas DC-3. It became famous for its reliability, its versatility and its ability to carry loads far beyond the original specification. C-47s wrote themselves indelibly into history by dropping paratroops during the landings in Normandy, by supplying over the Himalayan Hump and by the postwar Berlin Airlift. The type belongs among the most important transport aircraft in history.
Use liquid cement for plastic and finish and mask the cockpit and the rows of side windows before you close the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting and put the paints on with an airbrush. For natural metal schemes, metalizer paints on a smooth, polished base work well; invasion stripes come out more precisely with masking than with decals. Do not forget to match the shades across the large areas of the wing and the fuselage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
