The Chengdu J-20 Mighty Dragon is a Chinese twin-engine fifth-generation fighter with features of reduced radar detectability (stealth). It first flew in January 2011 and is being developed by the Chengdu Aircraft Industry group for the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). Its characteristic features are the forward canard surfaces, the long slender fuselage and the internal weapons bays, which hide the weapons inside the airframe for low detectability. The machine represents the leading edge of the contemporary Chinese aviation industry and is among the most modern fighters of today.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and make sure the seams of the large airframe parts are clean, so that the surface looks all of a piece. Paint and highlight the cockpit and the landing gear bays before you close them up. Modern machines carry matte gray low-reflectivity finishes — they cover best with an airbrush and an even coat. Bring out the panel lines only very lightly, so that the surface looks smooth and modern.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
