1:72 Curtiss C-46 / R5C Commando canopy airbrush mask is a set of spraying masks from MH models for the cockpit glazing of a model of the twin-engine Commando transport aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive masks cut to the frames of the glazing of the flight deck of a Commando transport model in 1:72 scale. The cockpit of a transport aircraft has a great many windows and frames, so masking by hand with tape is slow and the inaccuracies add up. A pre-cut mask holds the shape of the frame and the boundary between the paint and the clear part stays sharp. It is an accessory to a model, not a kit of the aircraft.
The Curtiss C-46 Commando was an American twin-engine transport aircraft with a roomy fuselage and radial engines. It became famous above all on the route over the Himalayas, where its high ceiling and large load capacity let it supply Allied units in places other machines reached only with difficulty. The US Marine Corps operated the same type under the R5C designation. After the war the machines went on flying with civil operators for a long time.
First wash the clear part in lukewarm water with detergent, let it dry and handle it afterwards only with tweezers or through a glove. Seat the masks according to the frames and press the edges down thoroughly with a blunt tip. Spray the shade of the interior of the frames first and only then the external color. On a large fuselage it pays to mask the cockpit before the base coat is sprayed, so that the clear parts do not get fogged. Remove the mask shortly after the paint has dried, best of all before the final varnish.
The package contains masks only. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
