This resin accessory from Quickboost in 1:48 scale offers faithfully cast exhaust pipes for a model of the British Supermarine Seafire F.XVII carrier fighter. It is not an airplane kit but a set of replacement parts that will replace the simplified exhausts from the plastic kit with crisply cast items with suggested openings.
The Seafire F.XVII was the carrier version of the Spitfire for the Fleet Air Arm, powered by the powerful Rolls-Royce Griffon V12 engine. Rows of exhaust pipes projected along the sides of the engine cowling. Faithfully made exhausts with a suggested opening at the mouth and traces of heat stress are among the details that bring the front of a model to life.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water because of the mold release. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw or a knife, sand the surfaces and protect your airways while sanding resin. Bond the exhausts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). They come into their own once painted in dark metallic and rust shades with light highlighting; apply a primer before painting.
It is supplied as a resin accessory for experienced modelers, not as a standalone kit. Paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
