A set of the SPACE range from the Czech maker Eduard for models of the reconnaissance Mosquito PR.XVI in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for raising the detail of the cockpit. It combines color 3D decals of the instrument and side panels with steel photo-etched parts and a seat harness.

The real subject

The de Havilland Mosquito was a British all-wooden twin-engine aircraft of exceptional versatility. The PR.XVI version was a pressurized photo reconnaissance variant which, thanks to its speed and ceiling, carried out long-range reconnaissance tasks. Its worked-up cockpit is therefore a rewarding place to raise the detail.

Use

• The color 3D decals create a three-dimensional and realistic look for the instrument panel and the interior without laborious painting.
• The steel photo-etched seat belts add convincing cockpit equipment.
• The 3D decals are released from the backing paper with a brief dip in lukewarm water, and the photo-etched parts are bent and glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Do not use a decal softener here, as this printed resin surface will not take it.
