A figure of a dog and a doghouse in 1:72 scale. This is not an aircraft or a vehicle kit, but a diorama accessory. The 1:72 scale is the most widespread aviation scale and a great many vehicles are built in it as well, so the set finds a use in scenes of field airfields, support areas and country cottages.
In 1:72 scale what counts is a legible silhouette, and the kennel has one. Placed at the corner of a building, by a fence or beside a shelter, it creates volume in a flat scene, and the dog adds scale to it. It is precisely in this scale, where the main model is small, that such small things have a great effect on the overall impression, because they fill an otherwise empty base and give the scene its logic of scale.
Rinse and degrease the parts, cut the casting residue off with a sharp knife and sand the surface lightly. Choose the glue to suit the material; on very small parts cyanoacrylate applied drop by drop works well. Apply the primer in a thin coat, otherwise the detail will be lost. In this scale it pays to paint with more contrast than seems natural: a darker wash into the gaps of the kennel and a lighter dry brush on the edges, or the model will blend together when seen from a distance. A matte varnish at the end.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and the base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
