A resin vertical tail surface (the fin) for the American F-117A Nighthawk stealth attack aircraft in 1:72 scale from Quickboost. It is not an airplane model but an exact replacement part for more experienced modelers that will replace the plastic tail surface from the kit with a more faithful and more exactly shaped casting with sharp facets.
The F-117A Nighthawk was the first stealth aircraft to see combat, with its characteristic angular, faceted shape. It carries a pair of canted all-moving tail surfaces in a V, and their exact shape is the key to an accurate silhouette. The part replaces the tail surface with a finer casting. Check the package to see whether it contains one surface or both. The part is meant to refine an existing Nighthawk model in the same scale.
First wash the resin part in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue from the mold. Cut off the casting block with a sharp knife or a fine saw and clean up the face; protect your airways while sanding resin. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) — ordinary plastic cement does not hold on resin. Watch the exact cant angle of the surface and the sharpness of the faceted edges, which define the look of the aircraft.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin accessory for completing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
