This is an add-on resin set of replacement propellers from Quickboost, the accessory range of Aires, in 1:72 scale. It is NOT an aircraft kit but a set that replaces the plastic propellers of a kit with more accurate castings with a more faithful blade section. A simple jig for gluing the blades accurately and symmetrically is usually included.
The Grumman E-2C Hawkeye is an American carrier-borne early warning and control aircraft with a characteristic rotodome above the fuselage. It is powered by two turboprop engines with large propellers, and a faithful rendering of them enlivens a model considerably.
Wash the mold release agent off the castings, cut the casting blocks off with a saw on a hard surface and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue the blades with the help of the supplied jig so that they all have the same angle. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer for resin before painting; pick out the leading edges and the blade tips according to period photographs.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
