An injection-molded plastic kit of the French EBR-ETT wheeled armored personnel carrier in 1:72 scale from ACE. It is a short-run model; the package contains parts in gray plastic, a photo-etched fret and decals for several variants. The assembled model is about 77 mm long.
The EBR-ETT came about by rebuilding a wheeled reconnaissance vehicle of the EBR family from Panhard: the turret was removed from the hull and replaced by a compartment for carrying troops. The crew and the troops being dropped off entered through a pair of doors at the rear. Although it was never widely adopted French equipment, the carriers were also used by the Portuguese army, among other places overseas.
With a short-run mold, count on cleaning the parts up and dry-fitting the hull. Bond the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue and the plastic with a liquid modeling cement. Assemble and paint the chassis and the wheels before the hull is finished. For a realistic look a base color, an airbrush finish and weathering with washes and pigments for dust and mud effects all work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
