A replacement ESCAPAC IG-2 ejection seat in 1:72 scale for a model of the Douglas A-4E or A-4F Skyhawk attack aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk is an American carrier-based attack aircraft of the 1950s, designed as the smallest and lightest machine capable of carrying a combat load from the deck of an aircraft carrier. Its small delta wing did without folding, which simplified the structure and saved weight. The A-4E and A-4F versions belong among the later forms, and the A-4F is usually recognized by the dorsal avionics hump behind the cockpit. The ESCAPAC IG-2 seat is the ejection seat that was used in the cockpits of these machines.
The set brings this seat in 1:72 scale as a replacement for the simplified part from a kit. With the canopy open the seat is the most conspicuous feature of the cockpit and its shape and division catch the eye on a finished model sooner than anything else inside. The scope of the parts, their form and any extras are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
The parts are not polystyrene and ordinary modeling cement will not join them. Use cyanoacrylate glue and apply it in a really small amount. Cut off surplus material with a sharp blade a short distance from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that no hollow appears in the shape. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, because paint does not hold on a greasy surface. Try the seat dry first to see whether it goes through the cockpit opening and whether it seats at the right height; even out any difference on the mating surface rather than on the shape of the seat.
This is an accessory set for a model. The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
