A photo-etched metal set for the model of the Grumman F-14A Tomcat in 1:72 scale. It completes the kit with parts that are too coarse in injection-molded plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Grumman F-14A Tomcat was a two-seat carrier fighter of the US Navy. Its recognition feature was the variable-geometry wing: on a catapult launch and on landing it swept forward, while in fast flight it drew back against the fuselage. The crew consisted of the pilot and, behind him, the officer working the weapon system, and power came from a pair of turbofan engines.
Photo-etched metal parts for a model in 1:72 scale. Photo-etching is used where a plastic part comes out thicker than it ought to be in a scale replica, that is on grilles, instrument panels, consoles, belts or hinged surfaces. The list of parts and the kit the set is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions and on the packaging. The kit is not included.
In 1:72 scale the parts really are tiny, so work over a surface with a raised edge, or a part that flicks away will end up in the carpet. Separate them with a sharp blade on a hard surface and level the tab with a file. Make the bend in a bending tool or over the edge of a metal ruler in one movement. For gluing use super glue applied with a pin, so that the excess does not run into the surroundings, or a two-part epoxy, which gives more time to seat the part. Degrease the metal before painting and lay a primer over it.
The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
