This item is not an airplane kit but a detail accessory set in 1:72 scale from Rise144models. It replaces the engine exhaust nozzles on a model of the F-14D fighter. According to the name the set covers both the open and the closed nozzle variant, so you can choose depending on whether you are building the model as a machine in flight or parked on deck.
The F-14D was the last and most capable step in the development of the carrier-borne fighter with variable-geometry wings. Compared with the earlier versions it received completely new General Electric engines, which markedly improved its thrust and its handling at high angles of attack and removed the troubles of the original powerplants. It is precisely these engines that have differently shaped exhaust nozzles, so the nozzle is one of the surest recognition features between the versions.
Nozzles belong among the places where a plastic kit loses the most. So dry-fit the new part and if necessary adjust its seat on the fuselage so that it fits without a gap. Paint the inside of the nozzle separately before you mount it, and only then glue the part in. Apply metallic shades over a smooth undercoat and only as the last layer. Choose the glue according to the material of the part: cyanoacrylate glue belongs on resin and printed parts, plastic cement on polystyrene.
