The McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle in 1:72 with a two-seat cockpit and extensive glazing. The films match the parts from Hasegawa and from Revell.
Responsibility details are not available.
The McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle came out of an air superiority fighter but was given the opposite task: to carry bombs deep behind the line, in darkness and in any weather. A weapon systems officer (WSO) was added in the rear seat, conformal fuel tanks shaped to the contour of the airframe fit along the sides of the fuselage, and under them hang pods with an infrared sensor and targeting equipment. The type had its baptism of fire over Iraq in 1991, where it hunted mobile launchers, and the US Air Force counts on it even today, three decades after its introduction.
The glazing of the two-seat version runs from the tip of the front section through the whole arch to behind the second seat, and the front frame is very slim against it. Masking an area like that with tape means laying dozens of strips, and a ripple will still be left somewhere. The pre-cut films in this set seat on the outline in a single position and the edge stays straight along the whole length of the arch.
Modern machines often have glazing tinted toward gold, which is imitated with clear lacquer. It is exactly here that a mask pays off twice over, because tint lacquer that has run onto the frame cannot be put right. The kit itself and the lacquers are not part of the delivery.
