This resin detail set brings a complete two-seat cockpit for a model of the F-15E Strike Eagle strike fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory with which you replace the simplified cockpit from a plastic kit. The set usually contains the tubs of both cockpits, the instrument panels, the side consoles and the ejection seats with a fine relief of displays and controls.
The F-15E Strike Eagle is a two-seat multirole fighter and strike aircraft able to destroy both air and ground targets in all weathers. The pilot sits in the front cockpit and the weapon systems officer in the rear one. Compared with the pure fighter version it has modernized avionics with large-format displays and carries a heavy onboard armament. Its roomy cockpit is a rewarding target for detailing.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water and rid them of mold release agent. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). A primer, a dark cockpit shade, a dry brush on the edges and a fine wash work well; decals or precise brushwork will bring the displays and the instruments to life.
The detail set is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin part. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
