Masks for the national insignia and the technical lettering F-4B/J/N Phantom II in 1:72 scale from Dead Design take the place of decals with sprayed markings without a carrier film. Intended for the Fine Molds, Fujimi, Hasegawa and Monogram kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the national insignia and the technical lettering. The markings are not stuck onto a model but sprayed. The mask is laid onto the finished finish, the color of the insignia is applied through it and once it has dried it is taken off. The insignia is then straight away a part of the finish, has no carrier film and so cannot silver. The dimensions and shapes come from the Fine Molds, Fujimi, Hasegawa and Monogram kits.
The F-4B, F-4J and F-4N versions were the naval forms of the Phantom II. It is a two-seat twin-engine aircraft whose markings consist, besides the national insignia, of a multitude of small technical lettering placed around the airframe.
A national insignia tends to be multicolored, so it is not sprayed all at once. The way goes in layers: first the area of one color is sprayed, it is left to dry thoroughly, and only then does the mask for the second shade come in turn. The critical thing is the register, that is, the exact following on of the second mask from the first; always try the position dry first, therefore, and go by the outline already sprayed, not by eye. If the insignia is to be rich on dark camouflage, apply a thin white base coat under the colored layer - otherwise the dark base will pull the shade down. Every coat should be thin; a thick application forms an edge at the border and runs under.
