F-86A Sabre 1:72 — an injection-molded plastic kit of the early American jet fighter from Clear Prop Models, new tooling with rich detail.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the early F-86A Sabre jet fighter version in 1:72 scale from Clear Prop Models. It is new tooling with rich detail: plastic parts on several sprues including a clear one, photo-etched parts and decals for several marking options. Because of the number of small parts it is a rather demanding kit.
The North American F-86 Sabre was the first American jet fighter with a swept wing. The F-86A version was the early production form, which entered US Air Force service at the end of the 1940s and became famous for its use in the Korean War, where it clashed with MiG-15 fighters. It was powered by a General Electric J47 turbojet.
Glue with thin cement for plastic, and smooth the fuselage seams with filler and sand them. Mask the clear cockpit glazing before spraying. The natural metal finish of the aircraft is best done with an airbrush: use a smooth gloss base and lay the metallic paint on last, because it is harder to mask and overspray.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
