A photo-etched set in 1:72 scale for a model of the F4U-1A Corsair carrier-based fighter. An accessory for refining the detail of a finished kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F4U Corsair ranks among the best-known carrier-based fighters of the US Navy from the Second World War. You will know it at first glance by its inverted gull wing, which let the designers use a large propeller and still keep the landing gear short. The version designated F4U-1A differs from the earliest machines in, among other things, a reworking of the cockpit area that improved the crew's view forward and during recovery aboard.
The photo-etched parts replace the places where injection-molded plastic is necessarily thicker than it should be in scale: thin sheet, grilles, levers, buckles and similar small items. On a model it shows above all where you can see close up. Which particular parts the set contains and which kit it is prepared for are given in the manufacturer's instructions; follow those for the position of the individual items too.
The parts are held in the fret by thin tabs. Separate them with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not by twisting, otherwise the item will ripple. Make the bends in a bending tool or between two blades, and always carry them across the full length at once. Photo-etch is glued with super glue in a small amount; cement for plastic has no effect on it. Before painting, wash and degrease the parts and use a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on smooth metal.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
