The letter F denotes the two-seat version with two seats in tandem (the single-seat version carries the designation E). The F/A-18F Super Hornet is the enlarged and upgraded version of the famous Hornet, operated from the decks of US Navy aircraft carriers. The two-seat variant serves both for training and for combat tasks, where the second crew member operates the sensors and the weapons control. The machine fills fighter as well as strike roles and, thanks to its large number of pylons, carries a wide range of armament and drop tanks.
First finish the tandem cockpit and spray it before you close the fuselage. Mask and paint the glazing separately. The typical low-visibility navy gray is made up of several shades - an airbrush and a fine differentiation of panels pay off. You complete the weathered navy look with a panel wash, fading and restrained traces of use; fit the pylons and the armament at the very end.
