The basic masking set 1:72 F/A-18F Basic kabuki masks from the manufacturer New Ware for the two-seat version of the Super Hornet carrier aircraft in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Pre-cut self-adhesive templates of kabuki paper for the two-seat version of the Super Hornet in 1:72 scale. It is an accessory to a kit, not a model: the masks are stuck onto the clear and other parts and serve to make the separately colored areas sprayable with a precise edge. The Basic line is the basic extent of the set, and the manufacturer also offers a richer version for the same machine.
The cockpit frames can also be dealt with by a thin strip of decal or with a brush, but you will see the result at first glance. A decal lies on the surface, breaks over the edge of the glass and, if the work is poor, air settles under it and a silvery haze appears. A line drawn by hand, in turn, never has a constant width. A frame sprayed through a mask is part of the surface of the model, keeps the same sheen as the rest of the finish and can be weathered over without worry. On a two-seat cockpit, where there are markedly more frames than on a single-seat one, the difference is multiplied.
For modelers building modern carrier aircraft in 1:72 scale who want a cockpit without brushwork by hand and without the risk of a decal silvering. Even a less experienced builder will manage it, because it calls for no special tools. The masks are cut for a particular kit, so check before buying which one they suit.
This is a modeling accessory, not a kit. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
