A modeling paint from the Hataka Orange Line range, manufacturer's part number HTK-C127. Light grays are among the most sought-after tones in modeling: they cover the undersurfaces of aircraft, equipment and accessories in a scene, and they serve as a base for lighter camouflage. Compare the tone against the color chart of the manufacturer or against the specification in the instructions of the kit you are building.
Stir the bottle well before work; settled pigment will otherwise shift the final tone toward the darker side. The thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging, so keep to those instructions. Apply several light coats instead of one heavy one and let the surface flash off between them. A heavy coat floods the engraving and dries unevenly. Wash and degrease the surface of the model before painting; on greasy plastic the paint does not hold.
Light shades let the substrate through and every difference beneath them shows. So unify a surface made of plastic, photo-etch and filler with a primer coat, otherwise the paint will come out differently on each material. Try the tone on a piece of scrap plastic, and do it in the same light in which you look at the model. Lay masking tape only on a cured coat.
The paint is supplied on its own. Thinner, brushes, airbrushes and kits are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
