A resin detail set of exhaust nozzles in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Aires. It is not a kit but an accessory that replaces the simpler plastic nozzles with more accurate resin parts carrying faithful structure inside and out. The set is meant for fitting into a matching plastic model.
The British FG.1 version of the Phantom, derived from the F-4, differs from the American machines in its powerplant. It was fitted with British Rolls-Royce Spey engines, which called for a wider rear fuselage and different exhaust nozzles too. That difference is typical of British Phantoms, and it is the accurate form of the nozzles that this set deals with. The aircraft served with the Fleet Air Arm and the Royal Air Force.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with super glue. The nozzles look their best in metallic shades, with dark wash colors in the recesses and a light dry brush. Wear respiratory protection while sanding and dry-fit the parts before gluing.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
