Fiat G.50 bis in the form of machines of the Luftwaffe and the Croatian Air Force - a complete resin kit of the improved version of the Italian fighter in 1:72 scale from SBS Model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A complete resin kit of the improved variant of the Italian Fiat G.50 fighter in a less usual form - for the machines used by the Luftwaffe and the Croatian Air Force. The fine resin castings from the Hungarian maker SBS Model are intended for experienced modelers.
The Fiat G.50 bis was the improved production version of the first Italian all-metal monoplane fighter. Compared with the original form it was given a larger fuel capacity, and therefore a greater range, and a modified rear fuselage improving the pilot's view. Power came from the Fiat A.74 two-row radial engine. Besides the Regia Aeronautica the G.50 bis also reached other operators: the Croatian Air Force used it in the first half of the 1940s, and some machines ended up in German hands, where they served mainly for training and auxiliary duties. It is precisely these lesser known periods of service that the kit captures.
Wash the resin parts, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection; glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The German and Croatian schemes combine the Italian factory camouflage with new national insignia - plan the masks before spraying and apply the insignia over a gloss surface so that the decals adhere well.
The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted, cast in resin. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
