A decal sheet in 1:72 scale for models of the Italian Fiat G.91 light combat aircraft in the R/3 version. It is not a kit but an accessory with which a model can be given markings other than those the box offers. The sheet covers the machines given by the manufacturer on the packaging, so we recommend comparing it with your intention before buying.
The G.91 came about as an answer to a requirement for a light tactical aircraft able to operate from improvised strips. It was powered by a single turbojet, and the design relied on simple maintenance and low weight. The R/3 version was a reconnaissance and attack form built for the West German Luftwaffe, armed with a pair of 30 mm cannons and fitted with reconnaissance cameras in the nose. Besides Italy and Germany the type served with other users as well, and in Germany it took part in tactical training for a long time.
With this type the decals often reach onto edges and onto areas with engraved lines, where water alone is not enough. A decal softener helps: it is laid on with a brush onto a decal already placed and settled, and the film softens enough to cling to the surface. While it is working, the decal may crumple or ripple, which is a normal state that must not be interfered with, otherwise the film will tear. Let it dry undisturbed and only then judge the result; if need be, repeat the application once more.
