IBG Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 Cottbus (Early) 1:72 is an injection-molded plastic kit of the German fighter with a V-type engine of the end of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Polish manufacturer IBG Models. It is a new tooling capturing the Fw 190D-9 version from early production at the Cottbus works. The kit contains photo-etched parts and a detailed interior and offers decals for several markings. Early D-9 machines from Cottbus are recognized by the form of the canopy and by the external ventral tank.
The Fw 190D-9, nicknamed Dora, was a development of the successful Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighter with a liquid-cooled inverted V12 engine in place of the original radial, which called for a lengthened nose and rear fuselage and improved performance at greater altitudes. It was deployed at the close of the Second World War, when it was to face Allied fighters over Germany, and it is among the most prized German fighters of the period and the most popular with modelers.
Glue the joints with liquid modeling cement and the photo-etched interior parts with cyanoacrylate glue. Mask the glazed canopy, unify the model with a primer and apply the paints with an airbrush. Late war German fighters often carried colorful mottled camouflage, so it pays to follow the decal instructions.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
