A colored photo-etched instrument panel for the early Finnish version of the Fokker D.XXI fighter in 1:72 scale. It is a finished cockpit accessory, not an aircraft kit. Thin etched metal with pre-printed colored dials replaces the panel from the kit and, even in a small scale, gives the pilot's compartment a faithful and readable look without hand painting. The execution matches the early Finnish machines, whose cockpit differed from the Dutch version.
The Fokker D.XXI was a single-seat fighter with fixed landing gear designed by the Dutch Fokker works in the second half of the 1930s. Finland used it under license and committed it, among other places, in the Winter War against the Soviet Union, where it did remarkably well despite its aging concept. The early Finnish machines had their own features in the cockpit equipment.
Break the panel out of the fret, remove the original instrument panel of the kit and seat the new one in its place. It holds best with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue or a glue for photo-etch. Note that this panel is intended for the Finnish version and differs from the Dutch one. The part is tiny, so work with fine tweezers.
This is a detail accessory for a cockpit, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
