An injection-molded plastic kit of the German fighter aircraft Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-5 in 1:72 scale from Czech manufacturer Eduard. The designation Light Fighter refers to the version with two wing-root cannons, meaning without the outer wing weapons — a lighter, more agile configuration. This is the Weekend edition: it includes plastic parts and decals for two color schemes, without photo-etch or masks. Check the exact contents against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Fw 190A-5 belonged to the mid-production run of the famous fighter designed by Kurt Tank. It was powered by a BMW 801 radial engine and had a slightly lengthened nose compared with earlier versions for better balance. The light configuration with just two wing-root cannons was used to achieve greater agility, for example against both bombers and fighters. The Luftwaffe deployed the Fw 190 on every front of the Second World War.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue with thin plastic cement; carefully sand the small joints. Paint and pick out the cockpit before closing the fuselage, and glue the glazing with canopy cement. German fighters carried gray-shade camouflage with mottling on the sides — after gloss varnish and decals, highlight the panel lines with a wash and add light weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
