1:72 GBU-15(V)1/B is a resin set of a guided glide bomb from the Czech maker Eduard, intended as an accessory to a plastic aircraft kit in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory set of underwing armament in cast resin for the smaller of the usual aircraft scales. It is precisely in 1:72 that resin makes the most sense: in this scale injection-molded plastic cannot hold the thin leading edge of the control surfaces and of the grilles, nor the fine transitions on the guidance section. The target kit is stated on the box of the set, so check before ordering that it matches the model you are building.
The GBU-15 is an American modular glide bomb with no propulsion of its own. The forward guidance section, the central warhead and the rear control and lifting section fit together like a kit; the form given in brackets after the designation distinguishes the method of guidance and control. The bomb is released at a distance from the target and its path is corrected by a data link, which the carrier runs through a separate pod.
Wash the castings in warm water with detergent — otherwise the mold release agent prevents the paint from adhering. In 1:72 scale the parts are small, so cut the casting blocks off in a dish or over a cloth, so that a part that flies off does not disappear on you. Sand wet and with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, not with solvent cement for plastic. Apply a thin primer before painting; a heavy coat would clog the engraving in this scale.
This is an accessory set, not a model of an aircraft. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
