The German A-4/V2 Rocket is a plastic kit of the German ballistic missile A-4 in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer Revell. A launch platform is included in the package as well, and the model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.

The injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale represents the German ballistic missile A-4, better known under the designation V2, including the launch platform. The model is issued by Revell, and the package contains roughly forty parts and decals. The assembled model reaches a height of approximately 215 millimeters. The recommended age is from twelve years. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The A-4 was the first ballistic missile in the world to reach series production, and at the same time the first man-made object to cross the boundary of the atmosphere on a test flight. Propulsion was provided by a liquid-propellant rocket engine, specifically ethanol with water as the fuel and liquid oxygen as the oxidizer. Guidance was handled by an inertial system with graphite jet vanes in the exhaust stream. The missile launched vertically from a simple transportable platform, which allowed it to change firing positions. Technically it was a fundamental step in the development of rocket technology, and the knowledge gained in its design influenced the postwar rocket programs on both sides of the Iron Curtain. The deployment of this weapon at the end of the Second World War cost a great many civilian lives, and production was carried out using the forced labor of prisoners.
The model is simple in shape, so the quality of the surface will decide the result. Fill the joints of the body carefully and sand them with fine paper, otherwise they will be visible after spraying. Apply a primer before painting. The typical contrasting divided scheme is best done with masking tape and an airbrush, and the transitions have to be sharp. Assemble the vanes and the fins exactly square, otherwise the model looks as if it is falling on the platform. Use a gloss varnish under the decals and take the surface down to matte once it has dried. It is a good idea to paint the launch platform differently, so that the model stands out on a display base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
