Gloster Meteor Mk.8/9/10 painting mask 1:72 from Art Scale — a single-sided self-adhesive mask for a clean paint job on the canopy glazing and the wheels of models of the British Meteor jet. Cut for the Special Hobby kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely shaped self-adhesive masks for 1:72 models of the British Gloster Meteor jet in the Mk.8, Mk.9 and Mk.10 versions. These are single-sided masks cut from quality masking film (the kabuki type) that cover the outer surfaces of the canopy glazing and the landing gear wheels. This is not an airplane model but an accessory for easy masking; the parts are numbered so they can be placed accurately. The masks are cut for the Special Hobby kit.
The Gloster Meteor was the first British jet fighter and the only Allied jet aircraft to see service in the Second World War. It was powered by a pair of turbojets mounted in the wing. The Mk.8 version was the main day fighter variant of the postwar era, while the Mk.9 and Mk.10 served in the reconnaissance role. The Meteor flew with a number of countries well into the 1950s and 1960s.
Degrease the glazing and apply the masks exactly along the engraved frames. Spray the paint in thin coats so that it does not run under the edge. Take the masks off while the paint is only touch-dry, with a clean pull of the tweezers. The wheel masks give a crisp edge between the rim and the tire.
This is a masking accessory, not a model. The model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
