Academy 1:72 Grumman F-14D Tomcat, VF-2 Bounty Hunters is an injection-molded plastic kit of the carrier-borne supersonic fighter in its last and most advanced Super Tomcat version.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale captures the F-14D Super Tomcat carrier fighter in the markings of the famous VF-2 Bounty Hunters squadron. The model has finely engraved panel lines and offers an optionally open or closed canopy, positionable airbrakes and external stores including air-to-air missiles. A decal sheet and clear canopy parts complete the box.
The F-14D was the final and most modern variant of the two-seat Tomcat carrier fighter with variable-geometry wings. Compared with the older versions it received more powerful engines and more modern avionics and radar. It served with the US Navy as an air superiority fighter and as a multirole strike aircraft; the VF-2 squadron was among its well-known operators.
Assembling and cleaning up the cockpit interior before it is closed is recommended. Apply primer before painting, spray the covering gray shades with an airbrush in thin coats and bring the panel lines out with a wash. The swing wings let you choose the sweep position; glue the canopy on last so that it stays clear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
