A limited edition of an injection-molded plastic model of the legendary German fighter aircraft Messerschmitt Bf 109G Gustav in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. The Dual Combo designation means that the package holds two complete models - specifically the Bf 109G-5 and G-6 versions, that is the middle line of Gustavs. It is a select limited edition to which the manufacturer adds photo-etched parts and self-adhesive painting masks. The set offers a rich choice of color schemes across several air arms, among them machines of the Luftwaffe, of the Finnish Air Force, of the Italian Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana and Slovak machines from the period of the Slovak National Uprising.
The Bf 109G, nicknamed the Gustav, was the most widespread version of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 and the main fighter of the Luftwaffe in the second half of the war. It was powered by the Daimler-Benz DB 605 engine. The G-6 version became the most heavily produced subvariant; characteristic of it were the covers (bulges) over the fuselage, which came about after the introduction of the heavier 13 mm MG 131 machine guns. The G-5 version was technically similar but fitted with a pressurized cockpit for flights at greater altitudes. The armament consisted of an engine-mounted cannon firing through the propeller hub supplemented by fuselage machine guns.
Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic, and fill and sand the seams if necessary. Glue the photo-etched parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting, lay the colors on with an airbrush in thin coats and mask the camouflage transitions. The masks supplied will make it easier to spray the cockpit frames cleanly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
