This item is not an aircraft kit but a separate decal sheet from the Czech maker Eduard. It contains stencils - the small technical legends, service marks, warning texts and data at filler ports that a real aircraft carried all over the airframe. The sheet is intended for a Hurricane Mk.I model in 1:72 scale and deals with the situation where a base kit offers only national insignia and squadron codes but leaves the small legends out or prints them illegibly.
The Hawker Hurricane Mk.I was a British single-seat fighter of mixed construction - a tube frame fuselage with a fabric-covered rear section and metal surfaces at the front. It was the most numerous British fighter type during the Battle of Britain, and its rugged structure repaired well under field conditions. Early machines differed in the propeller, the exhausts and the shape of the fin, so the legends on the covering are a rewarding detail on this version - in 1:72 scale they can lift the impression of a small model on their own.
Apply the decals onto a smooth gloss base, otherwise a matte edge stays around them. Cut the sheet close around the motif, soak it for a few seconds and let the decal slide off the paper; in 1:72 scale the small legends are best carried over on a moistened brush tip or with flat-jawed tweezers. Once settled, use a decal softener so that the decal beds down onto the covering and into the engraved lines. Finally, coat the model with a matte or semi-matte varnish, which evens the surface out and hides the edges.
