Replacement heads for figures in 1:72 scale with the British steel helmet Mk I. It is the Brodie helmet with a wide brim, which the British army introduced during the First World War and wore at the beginning of the Second as well. The set is an accessory for figures; a figure on its own does not arise from it, and the number of heads is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The helmet is the most conspicuous mark by which a viewer recognizes who is standing in a scene. Exchanging the head therefore changes the allegiance of a figure more reliably than repainting the uniform. At the same time you get rid of the usual defect of kit sets, where a whole group has the same face and the same direction of gaze.
Cut the original head off at the level of the neck with a sharp blade or a fine saw and level the surface. Drill a hole into the body and into the new head with a micro drill and reinforce the joint with a piece of wire. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wash and degrease the parts before painting and apply a thin layer of primer. The wide brim of the helmet casts a shadow on the face, so darken the face and, by contrast, lighten the upper surface of the helmet slightly; the contrast between them holds the shape even after a matte varnish has dried.
Figures, a model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
