This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian maker UM (Unimodels) captures the German Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer tank destroyer in its late configuration. The set usually holds photo-etched parts and plastic tracks built up by the link-and-length method.
The Hetzer was a low tank destroyer on a chassis derived from the Czechoslovak LT vz. 38, armed with a 75 mm gun in a fixed casemate superstructure with sloped armor. Late vehicles differed from the early ones in a simplified form of some parts, reworked stowage of the tools and details of the fittings that reflected the experience of production at the end of the war.
Finish the running gear first, and only then close up the hull; glue the small photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue and the plastic with liquid modeling cement. We recommend an airbrush over a primer, and a multi-color camouflage if you wish; you will build the weathering of mud and dust effects with washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
