This is a resin detail set that replaces the control surfaces on the plastic kit of the Ilyushin Il-2 Shturmovik ground-attack aircraft. The set holds faithfully cast ailerons, an elevator and a rudder with finely suggested fabric covering, which can be seated in a deflected position to liven the model up. The parts sharpen up an area that injection-molded plastic usually simplifies.
The Ilyushin Il-2 Shturmovik is a Soviet single-engine ground-attack aircraft from the time of the Second World War. It stood out for the armor protection of the engine and the crew and was designed for attacks on ground targets. It was one of the most produced combat aircraft of its day.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue first and cut off the casting blocks. Glue the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and do the sanding with respiratory protection. Separate the original plastic surfaces carefully and seat the new ones at a natural deflection angle; touch up the joins and blend them with their surroundings.
