Injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Ilyushin Il-10 attack aircraft in the Mod.1947 version in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Smer. It is a classic kit from a proven older mold which, thanks to its straightforward build, suits less experienced modelers and collectors of Eastern Bloc aircraft alike.
The Il-10 was a Soviet attack aircraft, a Shturmovik and the direct successor of the famous Il-2. It arrived at the end of the Second World War and served for a number of years afterwards; the Mod.1947 version belongs to the postwar production run. The aircraft combined an armored pilot and engine section with armament for attacking ground targets. In Czechoslovakia the Il-10 was built under license as the Avia B-33 and served with the Czechoslovak Air Force, so it has a domestic history as well.
With an older mold, expect to clean up the parting lines more carefully and to fill the odd small seam. Bond the parts with thin plastic cement and paint the cockpit before you close the fuselage. A primer coat is recommended and the shades can be applied with an airbrush or a brush; both bare metal and camouflage schemes are typical. Apply the decals over a smooth clear coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
