It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory for more experienced modelers that replaces the coarser plastic exhausts with a sharp casting with suggested outlets.

The real subject

The Ilyushin Il-2 Shturmovik was a Soviet single-engine ground attack aircraft of the Second World War, one of the most produced combat aircraft in history. Its characteristic feature was the armor around the cockpit and the engine, which protected the crew and the powerplant during attacks on ground targets from low altitude. It was powered by a liquid-cooled V engine, and the rows of exhaust stubs along the sides of the fuselage are clearly visible on a model.

Tips for working with resin

First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release residue is removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the cut surfaces with respiratory protection. Glue the exhausts with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and bring them out with dark shades and pigments for an effect of glowing metal and soot. Try the fit dry before painting.
