1:72 Israeli tank crew from the Black Dog model brand is a figure set of an Israeli tank crew in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The figure set represents the crew of an Israeli tank. Israeli armored vehicles have a firm place of their own in modeling: the Merkava, rebuilt Centurions and types derived from captured machines are among the most built vehicles outside the two world wars, yet a crew for them is usually missing in a small scale.
In period photographs Israeli tanks almost always appear manned: the commander in the hatch, another crewman leaning on the turret, a man on the hull. An empty machine therefore looks parked, even when it is built faultlessly. Two or three figures turn a model into a scene from service without the need to build a whole diorama with terrain and buildings.
A desert setting tempts you into strong contrasts, but in 1:72 the opposite works better: a light base coat, a gentle darkening of the folds and a dry brush only on the crests. Dust on the boots and on the lower part of the clothing links the figures with the running gear of the machine, which tends to be just as dusty. Before gluing, check that the figure in the hatch does not reach into the inside of the turret. Check also whether the figures block one another's line of sight, because an unnatural turn is immediately apparent even at a small size.
