A resin replacement rudder for a model of the German anti-tank aircraft Junkers Ju 87G Stuka in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail part from Quickboost. The casting replaces the part from the kit with a more faithful piece with the correct shape and finely engraved ribbing.

The real subject

The Ju 87 Stuka was a German dive bomber easily recognized by its cranked wings and fixed landing gear. The G version was a specialized anti-tank conversion nicknamed Kanonenvogel, armed with a pair of 37 mm cannons in pods under the wings and intended to destroy Soviet tanks. The rudder forms a prominent part of the tail surfaces and its faithful shape raises the overall impression of the model.

Usage tips

First wash the part to remove any mold release residue. Separate it carefully from the casting block with a saw or a knife and bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate); ordinary plastic cement does not hold on resin. Sand with respiratory protection, because resin dust is very fine. Before painting, roughen the surface lightly and apply a primer suitable for resin.
