Reskit 1:72 KAB-500L (500 kg) Guided bomb is a resin set of KAB-500L guided aerial bombs with laser guidance. It is not a model of an aircraft but underwing armament for models of combat aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds KAB-500L guided aerial bombs of the 500 kg weight class in 1:72 scale. It is not a model of an aircraft but supplementary underwing armament from the Ukrainian maker Reskit, which can be hung under models of Soviet and Russian combat aircraft. The resin castings keep the shape of the seeker head and of the tail surfaces more sharply than tiny injection-molded parts do.
The KAB-500L is a Soviet guided aerial bomb weighing around 500 kilograms, fitted with semi-active laser guidance. It derives from the design of the unguided bomb of the FAB-500 series, to which a seeker head at the front and control surfaces at the rear were added. The bomb homes on the reflection of a laser beam with which the target is illuminated either by the carrier aircraft or by a controller on the ground, so its accuracy is tied to holding the illumination right up to impact. It was carried above all by attack and bomber types of Soviet and Russian design.
Wash the castings in water with dish soap, cut the casting blocks off and level the surface. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The body of the bomb is usually painted in a single shade, while the optical seeker head is set apart by a clear or dark element; for fidelity, check the position of the markings against period photographs. Before hanging them, check the layout of the hardpoints on your model.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted and it is not a model in its own right. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
