A resin kit of the American Kaman K-MAX transport helicopter from Brengun in 1:72 scale. It is a cast resin kit meant for experienced modelers and it calls for a different approach than ordinary injection-molded plastic. The model captures the unconventional outline of this machine faithfully. For the exact contents of the package, follow the instructions supplied.
The Kaman K-MAX is a single-seat transport helicopter, a flying crane designed for lifting and carrying heavy loads on a cable. Its recognition feature is a pair of intermeshing counter-rotating rotors, the synchropter layout, thanks to which it needs no anti-torque tail rotor and all the power goes into lift. It is used in forestry, in firefighting and in mountain regions, where it can lift a load comparable to its own weight.
First wash the resin parts in warm soapy water to remove the mold release residue, or the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off carefully with a saw, do not snap them off, and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection: resin dust is not to be breathed in. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate (super glue) only; ordinary cement for plastic does not hold on resin. Apply a primer before painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted as a resin kit. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
