Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese fighter Kawasaki Ki-100-II with a turbocharger in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer RS models. It is a short-run kit; the package offers a choice of three camouflage schemes. Depending on the edition it may also hold small photo-etched or resin accessories. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Kawasaki Ki-100 came about at the close of the Second World War by combining the airframe of the Ki-61 Hien fighter with a radial engine, and it became one of the best Japanese fighters of the final stage of the war. The Ki-100-II version was a development variant with a turbocharged engine, meant for high-altitude combat against bombers. It remained largely in prototype and pre-production form. It was marked out by good agility and a good rate of climb.
Short-run parts have heavier sprue gates and fewer locating features – dry-fit them and expect sanding and filling. Finish the cockpit before closing the fuselage and mask the glazing. Base it over a primer; choose from the three schemes on offer to your own taste – Japanese camouflage with a dark green upper surface and natural metal or a light underside comes out well once the panels have been picked out with a thin wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
