About product

77propeller 1:72 Luftwaffe - 300 liter drop tanks, variant 4 (2 pieces)

This 3D-printed resin set from 77propeller contains two external fuel tanks of 300 liters in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for the external stores of models of German Second World War fighters. Variant 4 matches a different shape of the tank from the other versions in the manufacturer's range.

The real subject

The Luftwaffe used jettisonable 300 liter external tanks on fighters such as the Messerschmitt Bf 109 or the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 to extend their range. The tanks differed slightly in shape and in the way they were carried over the course of the war.

Building tips

Separate the tanks from the print supports, wash them free of uncured resin residue and glue them with super glue. Smooth surfaces are brought out by a good primer; sand any marks left by the supports with respiratory protection.

Who the set is for

  • modelers of German WWII fighters in 1:72 scale
  • anyone after an alternative shape of the tank
  • enthusiasts of 3D-printed accessories

The set contains only the resin tanks; the aircraft model itself, paints and glue are not included in the package.
