New Ware mask set for the Northrop YB-49 Flying Wing (1:72): cut self-adhesive masks for a clean spray on the glazing of this jet-powered flying wing. Sharp frame lines without laborious hand masking.
Responsibility details are not available.
Precisely cut self-adhesive New Ware masks for the model of the jet-powered Northrop YB-49 flying wing in 1:72 scale. On a flying wing, whose smooth surface is broken by neither a fuselage nor tail surfaces, the glazed cockpit draws all the attention, so every imperfection in the sprayed frames shows up at once. The masks deliver perfectly sharp edges and save hours of careful masking tape cutting.
The YB-49 was a rebuild of the piston-engined YB-35: the four propeller engines gave way to eight jet units, which made it one of the aerodynamically cleanest aircraft of its day. Despite promising performance the program was ended in the early 1950s, yet the flying wing concept returned decades later in the B-2 bomber, which even has the same wingspan.
For modelers drawn to groundbreaking American prototypes who want a clean, precise result. The set is also a good companion for building the piston-engined X/YB-35 alongside it, for which New Ware offers a separate mask: the two versions then stand out next to each other.
This is a masking accessory: the aircraft kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
