MASTER 1:72 MiG-23 MLD (Flogger-K) pitot tube

A precisely turned metal pitot tube from the Polish manufacturer MASTER, intended for MiG-23 MLD fighter models in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a detail part that replaces the thick-walled and easily broken plastic tube from the box.

The real subject

The MiG-23 MLD (Flogger-K in the NATO code) was a late modernized version of the Soviet frontal fighter with a swing wing. The forward pitot tube is among its characteristic identifying features.

Fitting and use

  • Drill out the original plastic part and glue the metal tube in with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
  • The metal is strong, straight and resistant to bending even after the model is finished.
  • The surface can be chemically blackened before gluing, so that it holds paint perfectly.
