Peewit 1:72 McDonnell F2H-2P/F2H-2 Banshee painting mask

A set of self-adhesive masking templates in kabuki tape from the Czech manufacturer Peewit for a model of the early jet carrier aircraft McDonnell F2H-2 Banshee and its reconnaissance version the F2H-2P in 1:72 scale. The masks follow the cabin frames exactly and make spraying them cleanly easier; the set tends to come with circular masks for the wheels as well. It is not a model and not a decal but an aid for quick and accurate masking.

Use

  • Lift a mask off with tweezers and apply it to the matching glazing frame according to the diagram.
  • Press the edges down firmly so that no paint creeps under the tape.
  • Spray the interior color and the exterior finish, and peel the masks off once dry.
  • Use the circular masks to cover the tires while painting the hubs.

The masks are single-use. Degrease the glazing and clear it of dust before applying them.
