A plastic kit of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4/7 Trop fighter in 1:72 scale from Tamiya.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109E fighter in tropical form, 1:72 scale, from Tamiya. The set allows the E-4 or the E-7 version to be built and contains the parts for the tropical dust filter on the intake for service in the desert. A detailed cockpit with instrument decals, clear glazing and a stand for display are included. Tamiya offers accurate fit of the parts and a clean build.
The Bf 109E, nicknamed Emil, was the main German fighter of the beginning of the Second World War, powered by an inverted V12 Daimler-Benz engine. The E-4 version made its mark in the Battle of Britain among other actions, while the E-7 version brought the ability to carry a drop tank or a bomb and, with the tropical filter, was widely used in North Africa and the Mediterranean. You can recognize the tropical form by the dust filter on the engine intake, which protected the supercharger from sand.
Use liquid cement on the plastic and finish the cockpit before you close up the fuselage. For desert schemes a combination of sand and brown shades works well; bring out the panel lines with a fine wash. Mask the glazing and fit it at the end. A matte varnish unifies the camouflage and prepares the surface under the decals.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
