This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale captures the early production variant of the Soviet supersonic MiG-21 fighter in the F-13 version. The model comes from the manufacturer Modelsvit and is known for its fine surface engraving and detailed execution.
The MiG-21F-13 was among the first widespread production versions of the legendary light fighter with a delta wing. It was marked by clean aerodynamics, a powerful engine and armament combining a cannon with short-range guided air-to-air missiles. The early versions had a smaller circular air intake with a movable cone and a characteristic small canopy. The type became one of the most widespread fighters of its day and served in a number of countries.
Assemble and paint the cockpit and the nose gear bay before closing the fuselage up. The seams at the air intake and the canopy deserve careful fitting. For the early machines natural metal surfaces suit well, with a fine panel wash to bring out the engraving.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
