1:72 MiG-21 in Polish service exclusive edition part V

Decals MiG-21 in Polish service, exclusive edition, part V, 1:72

The fifth sheet from the decal series of the Polish manufacturer Model Maker devoted to MiG-21 aircraft in Polish service. The set is an accessory for a kit in 1:72 scale and does not hold the model itself. The part number in the name tells the sheets of the series apart.

A small scale, small decals

In 1:72 scale a number of the decals measure only a few millimeters and without the right tools they are awkward to handle. The basis is a pair of tweezers with smooth, unserrated jaws, ideally with a blunt tip, so that they do not cut through the film. A soft round brush for adjusting the position is useful too, along with cotton swabs for blotting the water away and a white surface on the table, against which a tiny decal will be visible. Let a soaked decal rest on a towel until it starts to slide on the paper, and only then carry it over, otherwise it will tear.

A proven procedure with small decals

• Cut the decal out together with a small piece of the backing paper and put both into the water at once.
• Hold the backing paper against the destination and slide the decal off it with a brush; do not lift it into the air.
• Adjust the position while there is still water under the film; once it is blotted away, the decal will not move.
• Let it dry for several hours, and only then take the model over with a matte varnish.

Who the set is for

• Modelers building the MiG-21 in Polish guise in 1:72 scale.
• Collectors who are completing the series part by part.
• More experienced builders used to working with small decals.

The package holds decals. The kit, the paints and the varnish are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
