A turned metal Pitot tube for the MiG-21bis (Fishbed L/N) in 1:72 scale from Polish manufacturer MASTER, a precise replacement for the plastic kit part.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a turned metal detail set, not an aircraft model. The turned brass Pitot (ram-air) tube replaces the imprecise, fragile plastic part from the MiG-21bis kit in 1:72 scale. Metal holds a precise geometry, has a sharper tip, and withstands handling better than thin plastic, which bends or breaks easily. The probe's faithful shape also noticeably improves the overall impression of the finished model's nose.
The MiG-21bis (NATO code Fishbed L/N) was one of the last and most capable production versions of the Soviet light supersonic fighter MiG-21. It was an exceptionally widely used type that served in numerous countries around the world. It is distinguished by a prominent Pitot tube on the nose, which this set faithfully reproduces.
Cut off the plastic tube, drill a hole of the correct diameter, and glue the metal part in place with cyanoacrylate (super glue). Degrease the brass before painting and coat it with a primer. In 1:72 scale, the part is very small, so work with tweezers.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue, and paints are not included in the package.
